May 2012 - Transportation

My entry for the May challenge - Transportation
The Elizabeth River Ferry
Nothing brand new, but recent and never posted. Always something on the river.

There was a tugboat passing on the port side and I edited it out.

April Entry - Tulips

Scroll way down or click for my April 2011 entry for "Tulips"
(my favorite) from last year.
Here is one from this year's crop.

March Entry (Perspective)

My entry for the March 2012 Challenge - Perspective

I'd rather have an image with two vanishing points, one on either side, but this will have to do.

Hurry and get your entry in for voting.

After I thought about it, I decided the above image was more a "Vanishing Point" type than a "Perspective" study.  So, with that in mind, here is something more fitting.  It's an oldie that I found and toyed with.

Perspective Illusions

Not for voting.  FYI only.
I usually associate 'perspective' with leading lines, but here is an example I did years ago using 2 different lenses and changing distance-to-subject to get 4 unique images.
Hopefully I can put on my thinking lens and go out a create something new for the Challenge.  I replaced my stolen D-70 with a D-40 (couldn't wait for the D-4) along with a 55-300 VR lens.  Stay tuned.
Cheers,
Clyde

Reflections

Although this doesn't qualify, I'll post it here for grins.  I'm trying out a new Flickr/Blogspot interface.  This was one of my most favorited.  When I get my replacement camera, lookout for bigger and better images.

The Tulip

The Tulip by Olde Towne Photos (Clyde)
The Tulip, a photo by Olde Towne Photos (Clyde) on Flickr.

So you won't have to break your neck reading this, I've printed it here:
~ The Tulip ~
Tossing turban style contours, with an aloofness as one passes by,
Utilizing every charm it possesses, under a lupin blue cloudless sky,
Like a guardsman, gallantly standing, holding up his noble head high,
In rainbow colours, brilliant and stately, a vision to surely yield a sigh,
Ponder thus upon the regal tulip, it has pure beauty, you cannot deny.

The Tulip ~ by Ernestine Northover

Having to turn the print to read the verse, causes it to yield three different views. Purely accidental. :-)

Still Life

This is my most recent Still Life.  I used this image in the local MeetUp group for the "Converging Lines" Assigned Subject this month.
